Children –Mermaiding
Mermaiding lessons are designed for both boys and girls. Children will enjoy moving freely on the surface and underwater, exploring the underwater world like aquatic beings. Mermaiding is not currently part of the regular weekly schedule — we meet on weekends, once a month.
What your child will learn
- swimming with short training fins
- dolphin kick
- monofin swimming techniques
- free movement with a monofin
A special experience
During the course, we will provide children with a complete mermaid costume, allowing them to feel like a real mermaid or a predatory orca.
Lesson content (120 min)
- Warm-up focused on the feet and core activation.
- Warm-up swim without fins.
- Swimming with short training fins and monofins.
- Rehabilitation exercises to relax the feet and activate the core.
- Swimming in mermaid costumes.
- Diving, retrieving objects, practicing routines, undulating on the stomach and back, and synchronised swimming to music.
What you need to bring
- swimming goggles (without nose cover)
- plavky
- towel
- soap
Minimum participant skills
- aged 7 and up
- ability to hold breath and submerge the entire body
- gliding on front and back
Weekend experience swimming
Mermaiding currently takes place on weekends, once a month — it is not part of the regular weekly schedule. During the two-hour lesson, children will enjoy water play under the guidance of Daniela Šlopková, a former Czech Republic representative in synchronised swimming.
